You may not have known...

After my post last week, Dix and I had many people comment on our future plans and our trip this weekend. We were surprised to find out how many viewers we actually have! Anyhow, it got me thinking that my post this week should be centered on none other than.... ME! Ha ha not in an annoying way, but more of an informative way. I love blog creeping, and one of my favorite things is coming across interviews or Q&A's where I learn more about that person. So.... I've decided to list five things about myself that you may not already know!

1. I was home-schooled until 3rd grade:
I was super shy as a child and I still remember screaming my first day of kindergarten until my mom would take me home. Now as I look back, I think that my home-school days really helped me to establish a love of learning that I still have today.

2. I hate to cook:
I really try to be a good homemaker/housewife, but so far I've failed terribly at the chef part. I'm great at keeping my house clean and tidy, but when it comes down to choosing between more study time vs. exercise vs. reading a book vs. cooking.... I NEVER CHOOSE COOKING. So I've never obtained the practice I need to become a truly good cook, and the thing is, I don't really mind. My husband doesn't complain, and I know that someday when I have more time, I'll get better, but I'll never be Rachel Ray.

3. I have a very low pain tolerance:
I don't know whether it's the drama gene from Grandma Goldie, or an actual physical problem that I have, but it doesn't take much to push me over my pain threshold. Luckily, I have a husband who takes good care of me and is mostly patient:)

4. I love gross things:
Blood, guts, puss, crusties, cadavers, etc. don't gross me out. Last winter, I spent HOURS each week in the cadaver lab and I loved it!!! The idea of being a forensic scientist doesn't freak me out at all (in fact I think it would be a fascinating career!), and I don't flinch during live birth or surgery videos. I think the human body is truly amazing, and oddly enough, some of my most significant spiritual experiences have come while studying human biology.

5. Sadly, I am a Twilight pioneer:
Yes, I read the books before any of you did (besides my sisters), and now, I feel slightly ashamed because of all the unfortunate hype that surrounds it.

  2. I didn't know you hated to cook. I kind of hate it too...but maybe that is just the people I feed that ruin it.
